Keeping all of us safe on the Isle of Skye
Since we started Hillstone Lodge our guests have complimented us on our cleanliness.
We have now introduced additional procedures to ensure your stay with us is as much as possible concern free.
As the advice is changing regularly please be aware that our procedures may also be changed at late notice.
Prior to arrival
If you are experiencing any COVID symptoms then please do not travel to Hillstone Lodge. As per government advice you should stay at home and arrange for a test.
Cancellation due to Coronavirus
Any cancellation due to Coronavirus (either illness or due to government restrictions) will not incur the standard cancellation fee outlined in our terms and conditions.
As we always do, we will greet and welcome you, keeping in mind the social distancing guidelines in place. We will try to do this outside (weather permitting!) so that we can easily explain some of the new procedures.
We have placed a hand sanitiser dispenser at the front door and we kindly ask that you use it every time before entering the lodge. We will show you the house and your room. Please let us know if you'd prefer to go straight to your room.
As per government guidelines, we ask that guests wear face coverings when moving around inside the house. These do not need to be worn whilst sitting in the lodge or in the dining room.
We can continue to give assistance with luggage, we only ask that you remove your bags from your car and we will take them safely to your room (we will sanitise our hands before and after doing this).
During any “Exclusive Use” period
Due to Coronavirus, there may be periods when we have limited the bookings to be exclusive use.
If you have booked during one of these periods, it will mean there are no other guests staying in the house and your party will have exclusive use of the guesthouse areas (guest lounge and dining room). This also means that social distancing with other guests is not a concern.
We are enhancing our cleaning procedures in between guests and are rotating the rooms so that the room you have booked will have been left empty for a minimum of 48 hours before your arrival. Your bedroom and the shared areas (entrance, hall, lounge and dining room) will have been cleaned and fogged with disinfectant prior to your arrival.
We will be wearing masks when we interact with you and where social distancing is difficult.
We will not access your room while you are staying so the rooms will not be serviced during your stay. Your room will have been stocked with all amenities in advance and additional towels/linen will be provided should you need extra.
We have to remove all items such as books, guest directory, cushions and throws, maps, etc. but we will help you planning your days out and provide single use printed information.
The lodge is our home. We do not employ external staff so we do all the cooking, cleaning, etc. This means that no other person will have access to the lodge during your stay.
Our breakfast menu and experience will remain unchanged and we will continue to prepare and cook your breakfast to order. We will wear masks whilst serving breakfast.
Don’t fancy dining out?
As you know Skye has numerous places to eat and we will continue to promote the fabulous places that we recommend, the list of which can be found on our “Food & Drink” page.
If you just want to soak up the view and enjoy a bottle of wine from our selection of drinks, we will offer a simple supper which depending on local sourced produce will generally be along the lines of a soup, light main, selections of vegs/salad and a dessert. This dinner option should be booked at least 48h in advance and is subject to availability.
Just in case
If in the unlikely event of you experiencing any COVID symptoms during your stay, including high temperature and a new continuous cough, we kindly ask you to stay in your room. You will find doctor and other medical services information in your room. Contactless temperature checks will be available. Please refer to the illness section of our Terms & Conditions. If COVID is confirmed then we may be required to pass your contact details to the Scottish Track & Trace team.
We will email you a copy of your final invoice the night before your departure, this can be settled contactless via our booking system or by bank transfer for our UK guests. If you do experience COVID symptoms or test positive after your stay at Hillstone Lodge, we was that you make us aware of this.
