Keeping all of us safe on the Isle of Skye
Since we started Hillstone Lodge our guests have complimented us on our cleanliness. We have now introduced additional procedures to ensure your stay with us is as much as possible concern free. As we only operate one room at a time until late September, you will also get the beautiful views all to yourself!
As the advice is changing regularly please be aware that our procedures may also be changed at late notice.
Prior to arrival
If you are experiencing any COVID symptoms then please do not travel to Hillstone Lodge. As per government advice you should stay at home and arrange for a test.
As we always do, we will greet and welcome you, keeping in mind the social distancing guidelines in place. We have placed an automatic hand sanitiser at the entrance and we kindly ask that you use it every time before entering the lodge. We will show you the house and your room as we always do and we have designed a safe house and rooming introduction. Please let us know if you'd prefer to go straight to your room.
We will continue to give assistance with luggage, we only ask that you remove your bags from your car and we will take them safely to your room.
During your “Exclusive Use” stay – From July 31st to September 21st
You will have exclusive use of the guesthouse areas (guest lounge and dining room).
We are enhancing our cleaning procedures in between guests and are rotating the rooms so that the room you have booked will have been left empty for a minimum of 48 hours before your arrival.
We might be wearing masks when we interact with you (where any social distancing is difficult) but you are not required to wear one.
We will not access your room while you are staying so the rooms will not be serviced during your stay. Your room will have been stocked with all amenities in advance and additional towels/linen will be provided should you need extra.
We have to remove all items such as books, guest directory, cushions and throws, maps, etc. but we will help you planning your days out and provide single use printed information.
The lodge is our home. We do not employ external staff so we do all the cooking, cleaning, etc. This means that no other person will have access to the lodge during your stay.
Our breakfast menu and experience will remain unchanged and we will continue to prepare and cook your breakfast on order. We will wear masks during breakfast service for hygiene purposes.
Don’t fancy dining out?
As you know Skye has numerous places to eat and we will continue to promote the fabulous places that we recommend, the list of which can be found on our “Food & Drink” page.
If you just want to soak up the view and enjoy a bottle of wine from our selection of drinks, we will offer a simple supper which depending on local sourced produce will generally be along the lines of a soup, light main, selections of vegs/salad and a dessert. This dinner option is priced at £24.00 per person for 2 courses or £30.00 for 3 courses. This should be booked at least 48h in advance and is subject to availability.
Just in case
If in the unlikely event of you experiencing any COVID symptoms during your stay, including high temperature and a new continuous cough, we kindly ask you to stay in your room. You will find doctor and other medical services information in your room. Contactless temperature checks will be available. Please refer to the illness section of our Terms & Conditions.
We will email you a copy of your final invoice the night before your departure, this can be settled contactless via our booking system or by bank transfer for our UK guests.
